C64 SID Musikk
Da jeg gikk på barneskolen fikk jeg min første datamaskin, en Commodore 64. Den brukte jeg titt og ofte til dataspill, tegning og musikk. Musikken på C64'en har alltid fascinert meg. Sound Interface Device (SID) chip'en som driver lyden i C64'en har en fantastisk evne til å produsere frekvenser i alle former, noe som er utnyttet til det ytterste av hackere, demokodere og spillutgivere.
Nederst på denne siden har jeg lagt ut en del SID-melodier av kjente og kjære komponister. For å få spilt av melodiene, trengs det en emulator. Jeg har lagt ved et emulator program og en plugin for Netscape til PC/Windows her for interesserte. Ellers er det ikke vanskelig å finne frem til emulatorer for andre platformer. Vær ops på at hver SID-fil kan inneholde flere melodier, og at SIDPlug kun gir tilgang til en av dem.
